About Me

Selling Your Home

When I was a kid, my parents decided to sell the small brick home we lived in. Unfortunately, they didn’t receive any high offers for the house. Because I don’t ever want to experience the difficulties selling a house that my parents did, I’ve researched home improvements homeowners can make to add value to their properties before placing them on the market. A great remodeling project to undertake before selling a home is installing new windows. New windows can add value by improving both the appearance and energy efficiency of a home. On this blog, I hope you will discover the benefits of installing new windows in your home before attempting to sell it. Enjoy!

What Kind Of Glass Should You Use In Your Shower Door Enclosure?

by Jesse Henderson

One of the best things about choosing shower doors made of glass is that there are many options to choose from. Apart from the differences in style and design, there are also different types of glass that can be used for this purpose.

Choosing the best kind of glass for your glass shower doors comes down to both taste and functionality. What types of glass are you able to choose from?

Clear Glass

Clear glass is one of the most popular options for shower doors. As the name suggests, this type of glass is completely transparent and offers a high level of clarity. For people who are less concerned about privacy and more about keeping water and moisture away from the rest of the bathroom, clear glass is a great choice.

Due to the simplicity of this glass, it's also one of the least expensive options. However, it might be better suited for the shower in a bathroom that's not shared.

Frosted Glass

If privacy is a big deal for you even when you're in the shower, or if you need a glass shower door for a shared bathroom, frosted glass is a good option. This type of glass allows light to pass through the door; however, everything is blurred whether you're looking in or out of the shower.

Shower doors made with frosted glass can be framed or without a frame. There are additional options such as half-frosted glass or half-clear glass.

Patterned Glass

Despite the privacy benefit, there isn't much personality in frosted glass. Patterned glass, on the other hand, gives you many more options. This glass comes with a variety of patterns etched onto it, and you have the option of anything from a floral design or water ripple patterns, usually known as rain glass. Rain glass doesn't just look good, it's also perfect for hiding minor stains such as water marks.

Tinted Glass

If you want privacy, but you're not a big fan of the blurred look, there are different types of tinted glass that you can choose for your shower doors. Bronze glass and gray glass are two examples of tinted glass that can be used for your shower door.

Bronze glass has a coppery look, while gray glass has a smokier look.  Gray glass is a lot darker, and apart from the excellent privacy it provides, it also gives a unique look to your bathroom.
